Fish & Float with Texas Wildlife Association

Join us and Texas Wildlife Association for an overnight fish and float camping excursion on the Colorado River. Established in 1847, the Trigg Ranch is a six-generation working cattle farm located in Bastrop County. The Trigg Ranch is opening its gates to allow us this unique opportunity to camp along its shoreline.
What this event includes:
-Meals, including a packed lunch for the float
-Access to private land on the Colorado River
-Mentors to help with fishing strategies and education – conventional or fly!
-Caravan ride to drop off point at Fisherman’s Park on Saturday.
*Note: The float is a little over 5 miles and can take well over 3 hours to complete without stopping. There are no excessive rapids however, you should expect to be on the water up to 4 or 5 hours.
-Kayak rental, if needed
What you need:
– Tent, sleeping bag, camp chair and toiletries
– Valid Texas Fishing license
– Fishing rod and reel – conventional or fly
-Water shoes or sandals

5:00 PM Fishing 101
Casting 101
6:30 PM Wild Game Inspired Dinner
